The Temple of Goddess Tara, is in Tarapith; this Temple is situated in Chandipur village of Rampurhat block of Birbhum District in the state of West Bengal in India.

This blog is dedicated to Jagat-Janani (she, who gives birth to all in the world), Brahma-Mayee (she, who resides within all living and non-living things in world), Maha Vidya Tara(Great Wisdom Power, She who is the Goddess of Salvation and absolute knowledge). In this blog, I want to describe all the things related to Goddess Tara and other incarnations of Adhya Shakti, Primal or Primordial female power, who give birth to every thing in the Universe. She incarnate herself, in different aspect of Goddess. Goddess Tara is among one of the supreme Goddesses in Hinduism and is accomplished with all the knowledge of entire Universe and supernatural power. She adopted different incarnations in order to help everybody around the world.
Spirituality is one of the most important part of my life. Here, for me “spirituality” means "Philosophy related with the power of wisdom or super natural powers". Here, in existing world, there are different ways of believes, which we called the religion. If we say about religion, What I think; "the definition of work is a religion". There are so many religions, believes in the World. Here, as I born in Hindu religion, It's more attracts to me and I want to know more about Hinduism, through exploring. I am on the way of exploring Hinduism, which described in different spiritual text books, rituals and want to know more and more. What I realized! there are various sets in Hinduism and the rites and rules are different for every sets. Basically, Hinduism divided into two faiths, one those who leads family life and staying in society and other is those who left everything from social life, called as "Grihasti", roam across and only workout to gain spiritual knowledge, which called as "Sanyasi". This path is not an easy way, we often come across many Saints, Hermits, Sages in our daily life, some of them are living a very hard full life in the Himalayas, Cremation Grounds (Samshan), even under some trees and facing all sorts of difficulties, and natural calamities such as Storm, Rain, Hot Weather etc. They sacrifice there all desire and go through spiritual practices to get rid of desire in life and the try to focus on deity only. Some other Spiritual aspirants or "Sadhakas" lead their life like common people in our society. But every one has his own and different way for spiritual practice "Sadhana" according to their beliefs and recognition.

There are mainly two sets in Hinduism, One is related with Shiva and Shakti called “Shiva or Shakti Sampraday” (believers or worshipers, related with Shiva and her suppose Shakti, which are symbolized as the god of destruction, with natural property of Tamsi Guna) and other is related with Lord Vishnu and well known as“Vaishnav Sampraday” (believers or worshipers, related with Lord Vishnu, which is symbolized as the god of sustain-er, with natural property of Satwa Guna). There is huge differences between these two ways of spiritual practice, believes and Philosophy. According to Hindu religion, three natural qualities present in entire Universe and all the elements living or non living is got birth with these properties. These are “Sattwa, Rajas and Tamas”, there is a remarkable difference between Sattwa and Tamas, while Rajas is a combination of these two. But most important point of Hindu religion is that there are lots of different ways of spiritual practice or the way, but every way finally reaches at same point. Worship with elements like plants (Tulsi etc.), animals, even ash left after cremation of dead body, every element is used by devotees for worship. This different ways of worship with different elements related with these three natural properties, is recognized as various sets. "Vaishnav Sampraday" is based on Sattwa Guna, worshipers of Gods with pure and divine elements, while "Shiva or Shakti Sampraday " is based on Tamo or Tamsi Guna, worshipers of Ghost and Sprits and all elements related with destruction like dead body, cremation ground etc. As in all other religions, Hindu religion also recognizes the existence of "Soul or Atma" and rebirth. Hindu religion says, soul in every living thing, which is as same as God or Parmatma, it is based upon the results of work done even in present life or past, luck and life circle, life after death or life before death. Even every living thing has obtained his existence as animals or human being according to the results of works of his/her previous life.

Hindu religion is the oldest religion. It has evolved through thousands and thousands of years, no one knows the exact time period of the creation of Hindu religion. According to me or what I have found out through my studies about Hindu religion, there is only one power or supreme soul which we call "Adhya Shakti", which appeared first and created every thing in this world. He created Lord Brahma, Lord Shiva and lord Vishnu, as the Creator, the Destroyer, the Sustain-or respectively. She is made up of all the three qualities of “Sat, Rajas and Tamas” and has different forms of incarnation according to natural qualities. Most of the Hindu devotees worship different Gods and Goddess to fulfill their various needs or desire and those who left everything and take "Sanyas", to get rid of all kind of desire in human life and libation from the circle of birth and death, to achieve "Salvation or Moksha". Adhya-Shakti exists in Vaishnav as well as Shiva Sampraday equally, while there is a huge differences in believes of both sects, Lord Vishnu always appears in a posture of sleeping in a bed made by "Shesh Nag" (Supreme in Snakes) and thinks about the wellness of the whole world. Mahamaya or Yogmaya, a female power with destructive nature, represents the incarnation of Adhya-Shakti, has come out form Lord Vishnu's "Yog Nidra" or Sleeping posture. She is the mother of entire Universe, She creates, she sustain and she destroyed in her different forms.

Hindu religion pays importance on "Guru-Sishya" or teacher-pupil tradition, the place of guru is always the first and foremost in any devotee’s life, his place is even above all Gods. In everywhere in Hinduism Guru or Teacher is the supreme among all. I recognized first guru in Hindu religion was Guru Dattatreya, he was the incarnation of lord Vishnu, Shiva and Brahma, he had all the three qualities. He had taught a single lesson from 24 things, such as from "Python" he has taught that a sage cannot live in one place for long and he should be happy with whatever he gets. In the 19th century, Sai Baba of Shirdi in Ahamadnagar in Maharashtra took birth as the incarnation of Lord Dattatreya. There are also some famous gurus or master, who have taken birth as an incarnation of different gods, like Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, an incarnation of lord Vishnu, Baba Lokenath, incarnation of lord Shiva, Ramakrishna Paramhansa, incarnation of both Lord Krishna and Lord Rama, Shri Bamakhepa incarnation of Lord Shiva, Vijay Krishna Goswami and so on. They have enlightened the society in a new light of knowledge. All of these Gurus have imparted a new sense of knowledge in everyone’s life. Even Gurus take birth to solve problems and show us through the way of knowledge to lead a better life, he also takes an important part to destroy the evils in our society by his thoughts.

"Adhya-Shakti"

'She Who is the "Primal or Primordial Power" in Hinduism'

When there was nothing in existence, not even the Universe, there was a vast darkness spread all over and from this darkness, a natural power rose and she began to create the world. She got birth from darkness, and hence, her physical appearance turned black and she was named "Adhya-Shakti or Kali".

Existence of Om-Kar "ॐ" and Symbol Swastik

In Hinduism, the supreme power is the symbol "ॐ or OM", which got birth from "Adhya-Shakti or Kali" It's also represent Lord Vishnu and Thus, from the effort which was for the formation or creation of the Universe, Adya-Shakti (primordial power) gave birth to Ganesha (a lord in Hinduism who has the right to be worshiped first), which symbolized as the symbol of "Swastik". This event of the creation of Ganesha reflected her wish to begin the work of creation. Thus, till date, when we want to refer to starting something, we term it as "shri ganesh karna", which is a very common phrase. The inspiration to start a work is referred to as Ganesha.

Lord Vishnu "the Sustainer", Brahma "the Creator" and Shiva "the Destroyer"

She also revealed Lord Vishnu the Sustain-er, Brahma the Creator and Shiva the Destroyer with her extreme power, because In order to smoothly conduct the functioning of the Universe. These were effectuate with natural properties, namely: "Satwa-Guna" symbolized Vishnu and his spouse Lakshmi, "Rajas or Rajo-Guna" symbolized Lord Brahma and his spouse Savitri, Gayatri and Saraswati and "Tamas or Tamo-Guna" symbolised Lord Shiva and his spouse Sati and Parvati. (Parvati was a rebirth of Sati).

33 types of Gods, for perfect and smooth operation of Universe

In course of time, She also created the thirty-three types of Gods existing in Hindu religion. They are the twelve Adityas (they are the personified deities), eight Vasus (they are the deities of material elements), eleven Rudras (these included Shiva and five other abstractions), and two Aswins (solar deities), for smooth conducting of entire Universe.

Satwa, Rajas and Tamsi Guna's or three types of Natural forces

“Guna or गुण” are three types of forces which are divided into three major categories. These three types of forces are categorized as ‘Sattwa’, ‘Rajas’, and ‘Tamas’. According to Hindu Vedic Philosophy, every living and nonliving element, thoughts, visible and non visible forms are created with these three natural properties. For the smooth conduct of operation of the Universe, these three forces or properties are very essentially required. Creation is not possible without destruction and sustenance. For e.g. Birth is related with Rajas power, Life is related with Sattwa and Death is related with Tamas, and thus all three of these are significant. Worship is also distinguished by these three qualities; worshipers of Gods are believed to follow Sattwa guna, worshipers of demigods are believers in Rajas and worshipers of ghosts and spirits are believers of Tamsi guna. Heaven is related with Sattwa, World is related with Rajas and Hades is related with Tamas quality. Food which we get in non-violent methods (i.e.,without killing or hurting other living beings) belongs to Sattwa and the rest belongs to Tamas. Work and thoughts which are non-profitable, charitable, unselfish in nature, and are without any specific desire, are symbolized by Sattwa. Anything that yearns for gaining profit and are full of desire are symbolized by Rajas, and finally, violence, hurting others, being selfish are symbolized by Tamsi. Although these qualities seem to vary for the different gunas, but they are closely inter-related with each other, all are complement of each other. If there is something created, its existence compulsorily calls for destruction at the end, otherwise creation will lose its significance.

“Adya-Shakti” herself is symbolized with the power of “Sattwa Guna”. She had created Lord Vishnu with this property and gave him the role of Sustain-er of the Universe, there isn’t any significant difference between both of them, except the gender, Lord Vishnu is male while she is female. According to Hindu Vedic Philosophy “Sattwa or सत्त्व” represents "divine and purity" and is very closely related to truth. This natural property of “Sattva” is recognized as the best compared to the other two natural properties, namely, Rajas and Tamo, due to its quality of Truth, may be very hard to teach the path of morality. This is recognized by certain thoughts, as well as materials in this World. Some qualities, such as, being gentle in nature, being helpful, not being jealous, speaking truth, leading a chaste life through thought, speech and work, not to hurt anybody, being vegetarian and, hygienic, and consuming food items such as flowers, fruits, vegetables etc. are recognized as identifying characteristics of Sattwa Guna. To sum it up all, every living or non living element which is associated with truth, non-violence (mind, speech, work), purity and divisiveness are recognized as the operational principle of Sattwa.

‘Rajas or रजस्’ means “excitable or stimulation force”, which is an operational principle. Adya-Shakti upholds the activity of the other aspects of nature for creation; she had inspired Lord Vishnu to create Lord Brahma. This property upholds and maintains the activity of Sattwa and Tamo Guna. From the navel of Lord Vishnu, Lord Brahma got birth and every element, either living or non-living, in the universe was created by him. It is related with all the other qualities and creation of every element of this Universe. Action, change, mutation; passion, excitement, birth, creation etc. are symbolized by this natural force. All elements, whether living or un living, which tends to be extremely active, excitable or passionate could be said to have ascendancy of this natural property. Rajas is visualized as being more positive than Tamas, and less positive than Sattva.

The third operational principle; or natural quality "Tamas or Tamsi or तमस्", is strongly related with darkness or darker or negative aspect of everything and refers to destructive qualities. From the legs of Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva got birth bearing this natural property and he was assigned with works related to destruction in the Universe. Since this force stimulates darkness, dissolution, death, destruction, falsehood and so on, it is recognized as the most inferior among the three natural properties (gunas). All the incarnations of Lord Shiva with the exception of Hanuman are closely linked with this property of destruction. To get victory over evil powers or tyranny, this property is used by Shiva and his followers. Everything related to destruction, like consumption of alcohol, smoking, non-vegetarian food, killing, hurting, lying, death, violence, application of the method of destruction over every living or non living element etc. are symbolized by this quality.

Mantra

It means a bunch of words which convey a sacred statement and is composed of divine words. It is used to worship deities and to obtain spiritual power or to fulfill any wish. Mantras were composed during Vedic times. These are very powerful in their functioning. In order to obtain any kind of super natural power or for the sake of gaining concentration, it is compulsory to chant a Mantra. Such mantras are also able to fulfill all the desires in life. Mantras are also distinguished by their nature or term of work.

Pratyalida Mudra, (प्रत्यालीड मुद्रा)

The pose of a warrior, the way he stands before an action putting one of his leg forward; in the same manner, the goddess stretches her right leg forward and stands, called as "Pratalida Mudra" or we can say in attractive mood. Ugra Tara and Maha-Kali is standing in this pose, on corpse, which symbolized lord Shiva.
